If you haven't read the first post, you can click on it in the archive section to the left.
It's so nice to be able to work with great designers and architects and it makes my job so much easier! As a result, I have a new portfolio gallery online; please check it out, it is a more comprehensive look at the work we have done this past year.
And as promised here is the gallery of the images we shot of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center in Round Rock, Texas.
You can see more of these galleries, particularly those of the work I have done for Tellepsen Builders, on the website, click on the 'Projects/Campaigns' button.
Please click on the 'comment' button on the bottom of this page and let me know your thoughts about this blog, my work, or if you have any suggestions or interesting ideas, blogs, websites, or any other information you would like to share.
I can't say enough about McKinneyYork Architects design of a private residence in San Antonio, here are a few images of that project.

We just finished a job for newly branded David Wilkes Builders, a very nice bedroom and bath remodel in an upstairs loft.

Some of you may be familiar with the Mueller Develpment in east Austin, Texas, a landmark Green project developed by Catellus/Prologis.  I have been lucky enough to be their photographer and we have shot residential, multi-family, and commercial projects for them; here are just a few of the many images we have produced for them over the past few years.

DPR Construction and Earl Swennson Architects have built and designed a wonderful new addition to the St. David's Hospital Women's Center.

I really like this project design, especially the stair tower;  I recommend a trip to see this space.
Again, click on the 'follow' button and the 'comment' button and let me know what you think and what you are creating!!
More to come soon!!

McConnell Architectural Photography joins the new millenium and starts a new blog! We love these guys...Graeber Simmons and Cowan, Chasco Construction, Jack Allen's Kitchen, Bay Architects, O'Connell Robertson, McKinney York, Philo Wilke Partnership, the Lauck Group, Pi Architects, Jacobs Carter Burgess, and others....

Hello!!
Well its 02 Jan 2010 and I am just learning how to blog, this is the first one, so lets see what trouble I can get into.
This blog is an avenue for me to discuss and display my photography and for me to stay in touch with you all so you will know where we are working and with whom and if we are having fun and getting things done and in what manner!
We have been incredibly busy this past year 2009, working with so many architects and builders and designers, art directors and ad agencies I can't remember them all (but will list as many as I can anyway).

Our last job was the new Texas A&M Health Science Center in Round Rock, a teaching facility associated with the Texas A&M Medical School (the image below). Graeber Simmons and Cowan and Chasco Construction were the designers and builder, Ginny Chilton, AIA and Tommy Cowan, FAIA were the principal designers. There are so many cool design elements in this project (the rotunda staircase, the Sim Center, the auditorium...), I will be adding a link to a gallery of the images we shot soon.

My partner Holly and I shot some food for Jack Allen's Kitchen, which just opened on 71 West here in Austin; they have some really great food, the two principals coming from Z Tejas fame, and we attended two of the tastings before they opened and the food was remarkably good. I suggest you take a friend and ask for the best item on the menu we have tried so far, the 'veggie sandwich' a portobello mushroom on Ciabata; the burger and sweet potato fries are especially good as well, as is the queso! Special thanks to Angela Fulcher at MPact Brand Advertising.

Bay Architects, based in Houston, has been designing some amazing elementary, intermediate and high schools in Texas, we have really been working hard for them.

O'Connell Robertson Architects is also designing some beautiful School projects around Central Texas and beyond, really great spaces!

One of my favorite clients is Heather McKinney at McKinney York, she and her staff are so talented they can design almost anything and do it well. We shot too many projects to list here for them but two of the latest were a beautiful residence in San Antonio and a great renovation of one of the buildings on the University of Texas campus.

PhiloWilke Partnership, a firm based in Houston specializing in hospitals, designed some of the most well thought out and memorable medical spaces we have seen, including facilities for MD Anderson and Memorial Hermann, so special thanks to PW for their business this past year. They have been a very loyal client. Special thanks to Kristin Kautz!

David Wilkes Builders builds residential and specialized commercial projects, several of which we have worked on, all superb designs; David and his wife Catherine are especially nice people and a joy to work with!

I was blessed to be hired by Brigitte Preston at LauckGroup, an interior architecture firm based in Dallas, to photograph several of their projects, a couple of which are the UT Athletics (Hook Em Horns!) facilities and a law firm downtown in the Frost Bank Tower. Always beautiful work by the LauckGroup!

Tellepsen Builders in Houston is in their 100th year in business and Tad Lewis, their hard working development guru, hired me to photograph multiple projects for them including the River Oaks Country Club, Baylor Medical School Cullen Eye Institute, Episcopal Diocese of Texas Headquarters, many churches and schools, etc.. too many to finish the list, I really am grateful to Tad and the Tellepsen family for their confidence in my work.

Greg Hunteman, AIA and Walter Arnold at Pi Architects were great clients in 2009 as well, they design primarily senior living facilities, and their attention to detail and concern for their clients and their clients clients is remarkable. Clients.

SpawGlass Builders was another of my best and favorite clients in 2009, we did a lot of work together this past year and they built some great projects including the new ACC Parking Garage on the 12th and Rio Grande ACC Campus.

Nathan Carruth, AIA at Jacobs Carter Burgess designed another facility for Texas A&M, the new Prockop Institute for Regenerative Medicine in Temple.

Some other clients we worked with, and I want to thank them as equally as those metnioned above for their contribution to our business, were IE2 Construction, CG&S Design Build, Polkinghorn Group Architects, DPR Construction, CBRichardEllis, Kalzip Alcoa, Catellus Prologis/Mueller Development, Betsy Homan Interior Design, Browning Construction, the Lawrence Group, Etie Brish, Earl Swensson Architects, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Tate Austin Hahn, Memorial Hermann Hospital System, MD Anderson, University Federal Credit Union, Stream Realty Partners, Hanley Wood Publishing Group, Merriman Holt Architects, Rick O'Donnell Architects and many others. If I forget to mention anyone, let me know!, and I apologize.
Any of the images we photographed for these clients can of course be seen on the website, so check them out, the website will be updated as soon as I can get the time, this month for sure!!
January has a lot in store, including some travel to New Mexico.
Let me know what you think about all this. I promise to be funnier next time!
